Practical AI for small teams: start with the work, not the model

12 Aug 2026 · 6 min · The useful first AI project is usually a chatbot, a draft assistant or a workflow — not a research lab. Here is how we scope it.

Bass Tech treats AI as a layer on a real process: support, enrolment, quoting, content or internal knowledge. The question is not “which model is newest” but “which repetitive work should a person stop doing by hand?”

Pick a narrow job

Good first jobs are FAQ answering, classifying incoming requests, drafting a first reply, or summarising a long document. Each of those can be tested with a small set of real examples before you build a full product.

Keep a human in the loop

For client-facing work, staff should review output until the pattern is stable. That is not a lack of ambition — it is how you avoid sending the wrong fee, the wrong grade or the wrong policy to someone who trusted you.

What we build

Typical Bass Tech AI work includes website or WhatsApp assistants, workflow automation around forms and CRMs, and educational tools that help students or staff find the next step faster.
